Two Fremont Police Officers Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI
FREMONT (AP) — Two Fremont police officers have been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving over the past two weeks.
Authorities say 36-year-old Brendon Johnson was arrested on Saturday after he was spotted speeding and weaving on Interstate 580 in Livermore.
The second officer, 47-year-old Paul Singleton, was arrested on Feb. 3.
California Highway Patrol Officer Steve Creel says Singleton was pulled over after being clocked at 78 mph on southbound Interstate 680 around 11:45 p.m.
According to Creel, the officer smelled alcohol on Singleton, and Singleton failed a field sobriety test.
Fremont police declined to comment on the arrests, saying they were personnel matters.
