Two Firefighters Injured In South Sac Fire

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Two firefighters were injured during a house fire in South Sacramento that left a structure destroyed.

One firefighter suffered first degree burns to his ears and a second firefighter was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment for first and second degree burns to his face and ears.

The Sacramento Fire Department said the 39th Avenue home was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived late Sunday afternoon.

A resident apparently left a pan of grease on the stove while he went to the bank, which caught fire and spread to the home.

The American Red Cross is helping finding shelter for the three adults and child who are now homeless after the fire.

The identities of the injured firefighters have not been released.
