Two Arrested For Allegedly Skimming Cards At Bank

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. (CBS13) -- Two men were arrested after attempting to install a card reader on a bank's lobby early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Police officers arrested 37-year-old Armen Babayab and 50-year-old Norik Havhannisyan shortly after a Chase bank ATM on the 7000 block of Auburn Boulevard activated an alarm at about 1:15 a.m.

The two men allegedly replaced a card reader on the exterior ATM lobby door with a second card reader, and officers found burglary tools and a card reader discarded nearby.

Authorities said the two suspects were arrested on charges of conspiracy, burglary, grand theft, identification theft and committing a crime while released on bail.

The two men had been charged with a similar crime two weeks ago.
