Downed Power Line Triggers Grass Fire, Shuts Down Light Rail Service
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - A downed light rail power line triggered a grass fire in the Folsom area Tuesday afternoon and shut down train service.
Light rail service was stopped between the Sunrise and historic Folsom stations, according to a Regional Transit official. Bus service is available to all stations in between.
A power line went down on the track in between the Hazel and Iron Point stations. There is no estimated time for the track to reopen.
Sacramento Metro Fire crews contained the grass fire near Highway 50 and Folsom Road to just over 6 acres. It burned into Aerojet property, but no structures were damaged and there were no reported injuries.
