Trail Of Pot Leads Police To Suspects
VACAVILLE (CBS13) -- A fresh trail of stolen marijuana led police directly to the four alleged thieves, according to authorities.
The Vacaville Police Department said they responded to Camellia Way just before 3:00 a.m. Thursday after a victim reported that a number of his medical marijuana plants had been stolen by several suspects.
Less than a half hour later, a witness at a Motel 6 on Lawrence Drive reported finding a large amount of marijuana leaves by the motel's pool. Officers found marijuana littered on the ground next to a vehicle registered to 19-year-old Brianna Crossman, a Vacaville resident.
Officers followed the trail of pot leaves to a room on the second floor, where they spotted freshly cut marijuana plants on the bed and four subjects inside.
Authorities also found an unloaded handgun in the bathroom garbage can.
Police said Crossman and three other suspects, identified as 19-year-old Shawn White of Vacaville, 18-year-old Treshawn Rogers of Sacramento, and the alleged ringleader, 20-year-old Darrius Anderson of Vacaville, were arrested on charges of theft and conspiracy.
