Tourist Charged In Watercraft Death Of Vacaville Teen In Hawaii
HONOLULU (AP) — The Australian tourist charged with third-degree negligent homicide in the Hawaii watercraft crash that killed a 16-year-old California girl is expected to be arraigned.
Tyson Dagley is expected to enter a plea on the misdemeanor charge during his arraignment in Honolulu Tuesday.
Investigators say Dagley was standing on his rented watercraft before it hit Kristen Fonseca's watercraft from behind. They say he was looking at his girlfriend, who was taking video and photos, and didn't pay attention to where he was going.
The 16-year-old from Vacaville, Calif., died a day after last week's crash.
Dagley's girlfriend, Natasha Ryan, was charged with hindering his prosecution.
Ryan told investigators Dagley was looking straight ahead, and that she didn't see the crash. But deleted videos were recovered from Ryan's camera showing the crash.
