Three Women Rob Rocklin Dollar Tree Store At Gunpoint
ROCKLIN (CBS13) - Police say there was nothing unusual about three women walking into a Dollar Tree store in Rocklin on Monday night, but everything changed when a gun came out.
Ladies who shop at the store were shaking their heads a day after the robbery.
"You can't go out anymore," one woman said.
"We moved here because it was safer," a pregnant lady said.
Three women in their 30s and 40s executed a violent takeover-style robbery of the store at 6656 Lonetree Blvd.
"One of them showed a handgun," Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka said.
Police say Monday night near closing time the women walked in and forced two employees to the floor, demanding they open the registers and safe.
Armed and dangerous, the women were reportedly pretty agitated.
"Yeah, they were very violent," Milka said.
They even kicked a male employee in the face for looking at them, police said.
"Wow, that's scary," said Kim Blenner, a Lincoln resident who was shopping at the store Tuesday.
The suspects were there for 20 long minutes, grabbing as much cash as possible.
"They only get a dollar for every item," one shopper said. "These people need to go get jobs."
The suspects then vanished with the loot.
This is a quiet mall on Lonetree visited by a lot of families. Many are shocked women and not men are on the run.
"I've never heard of it," one said.
But Blenner said she wasn't surprised.
"This is isn't la-la land," she said. "Bad things can happen anywhere. Don't be fooled. Just because this is Rocklin, that kind of activity can happen here. You need to be aware."
