2 Killed, 1 Hurt After Modesto Shooting
MODESTO, Calif. (AP) -- Police say two people are dead and another is seriously injured after a shooting at a Modesto market.
Sgt. Rick Armendariz says officers arrived at V & V Oriental Market around 2 p.m. Tuesday and found a man dead inside the store. Two injured women were taken to a nearby hospital, where one later died.
Armendariz tells the Modesto Bee that the surviving woman -- in her late teens or 20s -- remains in critical condition.
Police have not identified the victims. They say the man was in his 50s and the deceased woman was in her late 40s or 50s.
Armendariz says police stopped a green Honda SUV in Ceres an hour after the shooting, believing the vehicle was involved in the incident. He says officers are questioning the SUV's three male passengers.
