Three Missing Women Leave Behind Similar Mysteries
GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) — Three older women that mysteriously went missing, leaving behind few clues and families desperate for answers.
CBS13 is asking questions about a possible connection between the three cases.
At Prosperity Lanes in Grass Valley, there are heavy hearts and missing posters for Wilma Barnhart. Instead of bowling tonight, she's missing, and it isn't the only case of an older woman gone missing.
Barnhart, 74, would never miss her bowling league.
"I'm bowling for Wilma right now, that's just how it is. She was the kind of person she just loves everybody."
Susan Jacobson, 59, went to run errands, vanishing without a trace. Her wallet was found near her car in a parking lot.
And Carol Ann Foster, 73, stopped showing up for work at Oroville Hospital. All three women went missing within weeks of each other.
Susan was last seen on May 1. Wilma hasn't been seen since July 7 in Grass Valley. Carol Ann, of Chico, has been missing since July 15.
We asked police about a possible connection between the cases. Roseville Police confirms they've been in touch with Grass Valley Police, but stresses it's routine and that there isn't evidence of a connection. However, they haven't ruled it out.
In each of the cases, family members say they women didn't suffer from any illnesses or dementia. In each, cops have said there is no evidence of foul play.
As the days and weeks drag on, friends and family fear for the worst, clinging to hope.
They've handed out more than 2,000 flyers in Wilma's disappearence.
Though Susan Jacobson's vehicle has been recovered, the vehicles in the other two cases have not been seen since the women were reported missing.
