Thousands Of Bees Creating A Buzz In Front Of Stockton Home

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Thousands of bees have been buzzing around a Stockton home stirring up trouble and trapping a family inside.

Sally and Don Felkins got a surprise they didn't see coming -- an infestation of bees buzzing all over the place.
Don first noticed them when he got home from work.

"I actually heard them before I'd seen them," he said.

At first they were all in the trees. Then a branch fell, creating quite the stir to the family's front walkway.

"We've been going out the side door, coming around through the gate. Can't get out the front door," Don said.

The bees weren't buzzing Tuesday night, so for the first time, Sally felt safe to come check out this bee kingdom.

"This is the first I've been out," she said. "I don't like bees. They will sting me."

But Don isn't as timid. He has a plan to get rid of the bees all by himself.

"If you can pick them up without disturbing them, they will just stay in their nice little group and you can put them in a box and move the box somewhere, to a field somewhere," he said. "I can't leave them here."

"I think he's crazy, that's what I think," Sally said.

Don says if he can't move the bees on his own, he may try and get in touch with a beekeeper in the morning. But he doesn't want to call an exterminator.
