Thieves Steal Toys, Lawn Equipment From West Sacramento Church
WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A small West Sacramento church that had spent weeks collecting change to buy toys and play equipment has been hit by thieves who took the recently purchased items.
Sometime between last Sunday and Monday evening, thieves broke into the Center for Spiritual Awareness at 1275 Starboard Drive.
They got away with toys, a large inflatable bouncy house and church's lawn equipment.
The toys had just been purchased with money raised in a campaign the church called "Pennies from Heaven" where the congregation would donate their spare change.
The church estimates the items stolen are worth $2,000.
