Thief Takes Urijah Faber's King Of The Cage Belt From Roseville Martial Arts Studio
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — He captured world titles, including wins that earned him the nickname California Kid, but this was one takedown Urijah Faber didn't see coming.
The small Roseville martial arts studio Faber trained at decades ago is now the center of a burglary investigation involving one of Faber's most memorable prizes.
Faber's King Of The Cage belt is one of two swiped right out of the front office of Dave Marinoble's gym.
"People that steal those kind of things i don't think have any idea what goes into that-you know it's our life," Marinoble said. "That's what we do."
In fact, he says the burglar broke in after his last fight on Wednesday night. The front door was smashed in, the cash register was cracked open and the suspected thief was busted.
Police say a grainy surveillance picture shows one suspect acting alone who skipped the belts in the back and went for the gold.
"He did select specific items which tells me he probably has some knowledge of mixed martial arts fighting," said Roseville Police officer Aaron Splawn.
Thieves also stole a couple of samurai swords.
