The Grant Napear Show - September 20, 2012
Leonard Davis of the San Francisco 49ers checked in after an afternoon practice session to look ahead to this weekend's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis. Davis also has a heavy metal band, Free Reign, with some of his former teammates on the Dallas Cowboys. Davis talks about the team's approach through the early weeks and how they deal with high expectations. The 49ers are largely considered one of the top teams in the NFL, and Davis says those sentiments from the media haven't affected the way that the team practices and prepares for each game.
Brian Baldinger of NFL Network previewed week three of the NFL season and looked at where some of the top teams stand through two games, discussing the Eagles, Steelers, Cardinals, Cowboys, and Raiders, among others.
Bill Laskey of CSN Bay Area looked at the path ahead for the Oakland A's as they seek a playoff berth. The A's are in control of one of two wildcard positions and still have a shot at overtaking the Texas Rangers to win the AL West.
Bip Roberts of Comcast SportsNet discussed the Giants' chances going into the playoffs now that they've opened up a nine game lead in the division over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Roberts speculates on the playoff pitching rotation and gives some insight as to why the team's been so successful after the loss of Melky Cabrera.
