The Grant Napear Show - June 20, 2013
With Game 7 of the NBA Finals only a few hours away, Grant began the show by previewing what should be a very entertaining game. Grant also discussed the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres series, Aaron Hernandez' possible involvement in a murder case, and the talk about DeMarcus Cousins possibly wanting a max contract.
New Kings assistant coach Chris Jent joined Grant today but only had a moment to talk as he was evaluating NBA draft prospects. He shared his thoughts on the talent in this year's draft.
Zach Harper of CBS Sports wrote an article on DeMarcus Cousins' agent wanting to get him a max contract or a trade, so he came on the show to discuss the situation and DeMarcus Cousins' potential.
Former Kings GM Geoff Petrie joined Grant to reflect on his time with the Kings.
Petrie talked about being on the sidelines during this year's draft, dealing with a limited payroll the past few years, his greatest accomplishment as the Kings' GM, his biggest challenges as a GM, the Thomas Robinson trade, DeMarcus Cousins' career up to this point and the maturation of Tyreke Evans.
Grant's broadcast partner and longtime Kings front office member Jerry Reynolds joined him during the final hour of the show.
Reynolds discussed his transition out of the Kings front office, his impression of Kings new head coach Michael Malone, his thoughts on this year's draft class, Isaiah Thomas' potential to be a consistent NBA starting point guard and the excitement running through the Sacramento community as a result of the Kings staying put.
