The Grant Napear Show - August 29, 2012
Today on the Grant Napear Show, there was a lot of talk about Dwight Howard and Allen Pinkett's questionable decisions, as well as the start of the NFL season. Grant took calls about Maurice Jones-Drew, Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys, Dwight Howard missing a camp for kids, and Allen Pinkett saying Notre Dame needs to have criminals on the team in order to win. Grant interviewed Adam Caplan and John Smoltz.
Adam Caplan from the Pro Football Writers Association was on with Grant today to talk about the upcoming NFL season. Adam and Grant talked about rookie quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Nick Foles, and why preseason isn't a great indicator of their ability to perform in the NFL. Staying on the quarterback topic, Grant and Adam discussed Michael Vick, Tom Brady, Eli Manning and Carson Palmer. Adam also talked about how the 49ers, despite a loaded roster, have struggled a bit in the preseason. Grant and Adam also discussed replacement officials, the hype surrounding the Dallas Cowboys every year, and the New York Giants.
John Smoltz from MLB Network joined Grant today to talk about the remainder of the MLB season. John talked about September call-ups, why the system needs to be reformed, and why the current system is unfair. He also discussed Stephen Strasburg and how the talk of him being shut down for the year could affect the Nationals as a team.
