The Grant Napear Show - August 27, 2012
As the NFL season is getting ready to start, Grant voiced his concerns over Carson Palmer's preseason performance and Peyton Manning's ability to break down the 49ers defense over the weekend. And with the Dodgers making a huge trade over the weekend, Grant also wanted to hear from callers on which team they thought would win the National League West.
Ryan Lillis of the Sacramento Bee joined Grant to talk about the rumors that the Sacramento Kings may relocate to Virginia Beach.
The Bee sent Lillis to Virginia to cover the situation, so Lillis talked about the upcoming Virginia Beach City Council vote on a new arena and his thoughts on the validity of the relocation rumors.
Kevin Millar of the MLB Network was on with Grant to give his insight on current events in baseball.
Millar spoke on the Los Angeles Dodgers/Boston Red Sox trade, the turmoil in the Red Sox locker room, his time playing in the big leagues, his time with MLB Network and the most oddball guy he ever played with.
Matt Maiocco of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area came on the show to talk about the San Francisco 49ers.
Maiocco talked about the 49ers' defensive performance in the preseason vs. the regular season, the preseason inactivity of Randy Moss, the conservative play of the 49ers in the preseason thus far, the growth of Colin Kaepernick, the 49ers' weaknesses, Jim Harbaugh's relationship with the media and the chances Kyle Williams starts the season as the team's punt returner.
