The Grant Napear Show - April 26, 2013
Grant opened the show previewing tonight's pivotal Game 3 in Oakland between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets. Grant talked about Stephen Curry's availability as well as the atmosphere inside Oracle Arena for the Warriors first home playoff game in six years.
Grant also talked about the fallout from Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook tearing his meniscus in his right knee and also talked some A's & Giants baseball.
Oakland Raiders 2013 1st round draft pick D.J. Hayden joined Grant to talk about the Raiders drafting him. Hayden discussed his near death experience recovering from a tear in a major vein that carries blood from his lower body to his heart, rehab & how that injury changed his outlook on life. Hayden also talked about his strengths as a football player & what he hopes to bring to Oakland.
Brian Baldinger from the NFL Network came on with Grant to talk about the NFL Draft. Baldinger discussed both the Raiders and San Francisco 49ers draft picks, going as far as to say he thought Raiders pick D.J. Hayden was "the best corner in the draft." Baldinger also touched on why he thought both Manti Te'o and Geno Smith slipped all the way to the 2nd round.
MLB Network's Greg Amsinger joined Grant and talk Giants and A's. Amsinger thought Giants should be somewhat worried Matt Cain's early season struggles and discussed the importance of Yoenis Cespedes to the A's lineup. Amsinger also talked about why he thought the Washington Nationals should press the panic button & who his biggest surprise of the season has been so far.
Warriors radio play-by-play announcer Tim Roye joined Grant to discussing everything Golden State Warriors as they prepare for Game 3 in Oakland. Roye talked about Stephen Curry availability for Game 3, the injuries that have affected both the Warriors and the Nuggets and how Nuggets big man Kenneth Faried could pose a big matchup problem for the Warriors without All Star forward David Lee.
Scott Reiss from CSN Bay Area came on with Grant to talk all things Bay Area sports. Reiss gave his thoughts on Matt Cain and the Giants, the A's, Warriors playoff basketball as well as what seems like a golden age in Bay Area sports.
