The Grant Napear Show - April 2, 2012

The Grant Napear Show was live from Power Balance Pavilion today, as the Sacramento Kings get ready for game one, of a two game home stand vs. Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. Fans were excited to talk Kings basketball as the season has entered the closing month.

First on the show, Andrew Baggerly with CSN Bay area joins to talk Giants baseball as spring training has come to a close, and we now have entered the opening week of the MLB season. "I think there could have been a lot of things that could have gone wrong, but Posey, (Buster Posey) looks good. He has been better then expected this spring." Baggerly said while sharing his thoughts on the Giants spring training performance. With the big news that the Giants and Matt Cain agree to a six-year, 127.5M deal, Giants fans have a lot to be optimistic about. Baggerly sharing his thoughts on the deal said, "This was important for the Giants ownership up and down. It is always risky to go after a pitcher for a long term contract." He went on to say, " It's a good deal, a fair deal, I don't think fans in SF have anything bad to say about Matt Cain." When asked about San Francisco Giant Aubrey Huff, as he is coming off a bad year and a slow spring Baggerly said. "I think this year is very important. They are not going to sit and watch him hit ground balls to the 2nd basemen." As we enter the new season the expectations for the Giants are high, as they missed the playoff's last year, but the question remains; are they as good as everyone thinks they are going to be? "They are good enough to contend. I think with the 2nd wildcard it will be pretty disappointing if they don't at least get one of those."

Next on the show, former Sacramento King and Kansas alumni, Scot Pollard to talk NCAA National Championship that is set to be played later on tonight between Kansas and Kentucky. First sharing his thoughts on the last game that but Kansas into the championship game Pollard said, "The Jayhawks just found a way to win in the 2nd half." He went on to say, "They just find ways to gut it out and win. Kansas has the more talented team top to bottom. If they go down to the wire, I put my money on the Jayhawks. Do I think they will be able to keep it a one or 2-possession game? No I do not."

Last on the show, former Sacramento King and current Minnesota Timberwolve, Brad Miller. He joins to talk about his years in the NBA, as this year will be his last. Sharing his thoughts on trying to come back off an injury Miller said, "Its tough, as you get older its harder to get into shape. It's been harder to come back." As Brad gets set to play his last game in Sacramento, he took some time and reflected on his time in the NBA saying, "It has been great. I chose to come to SAC, and it was the best team I have ever played on."
