The Don Geronimo Show - September 4, 2012
To start off the first day back from vacation, Don and the guys first talk about the passing of Michael Clarke Duncan, and Don calls Abe Vigoda to make sure he's still alive. The guys then discuss today's draft for the Fantasy Football League, and the draft order gets determined as Don pulls each guy's name out of a hat. After talking about what the hell was up with Roy's lesbian friend who came in and gave Don attitude, Steve unveils his new parody song about her, and the guys sing along. We then hear Slow Joe's drunken voice mails, and Don tells us about his vacation to So Cal, the ridiculously expensive room service breakfast they had, and the celebrities they saw at the hotel.
We then get a visit from James Young, guitarist and co-founder of the rock band Styx. Styx is playing at Thunder Valley on Thursday, and James tells us about how they developed their signature sound, their live show being more of the heavier, progressive songs from the 70's, and how Styx has managed to keep going after 40 years. After James, Don calls a listener who's been texting in since 5:23 AM, making jokes about what Steve did during the vacation and then Don shows us a video of an Indiana woman performing lewd acts on a liquor bottle.
It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Among the stories today: The passing of Michael Clarke Duncan, The Dark Knight Rises has now raked in over $1 billion, Nikki Sixx's "John Mayer" comments, and the world's largest hamburger. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
