The Don Geronimo Show - September 27, 2012
Don begins by telling us how happy he is that the replacement refs have returned, but then tells us how pissed he is at Mike Love for kicking out 3 of the founding members of The Beach Boys, including Brian Wilson. We then get a Big Ed update, and Don calls his brother Jim to talk about the Green Bay game on Monday. After seeing a clip of a disco drummer dropping dead of a heart attack on stage, and Barbara Streisand's appearance on Katie Couric yesterday, we hear the "26 Greatest Sing-Along Songs From Movies," and Steve's new song about Don's diet.
It's then time for another edition of "Craig Calls Celebs," and after about 10 non answers, Craig gets former NFL coach and player Dan Reeves to come on the air. We then get a visit from comedian and Sacramento native Brian Posehn. Brian, who is performing at the Punchline in Sac this weekend, tells us about being a sci-fi geek, how Louis CK has raised the bar for all comedians, what Conan O'Brien's like off air, and his love for heavy metal. After Brian, Don's old buddy, CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz calls in. Jim, who is calling the Oakland/Denver game this weekend with Phil Simms, talks about living in California now, being on Madden 13, getting to call the Super Bowl, Masters, and NCAA Final Four this year, and how ready he thinks the real NFL officials will be this week.
It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, among the stories: Lil' Wayne has passed Elvis with 109 appearances on the Billboard charts, Honey Boo Boo will have holiday specials,TV reminders, and Britney looks retarded on X Factor. And of course, Don wrps everything up with a caller 100!
