The Don Geronimo Show - September 11, 2012
Today is the 11th anniversary of 9/11, and Don spends the first hour playing news clips from that awful day, as well as Kate Smith's "God Bless America," and "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes. Don then calls a casino in Idaho that is running a tasteless 9/11 promotion to rip them a new one. We then get a visit from our good friend, NFL great Joe Theismann. Joe talks about week 1 of the NFL season, his thoughts on RG3, Peyton Manning, and the Packers/49ers game, and tells us his "1 yard punt" story. He also brings a new play for Craig to draw up!
After Joe, Don plays a few more 9/11 cuts, and rips an idiot caller who says 9/11 was a government conspiracy that the U.S. brought upon themselves. Don even calls an idiot texter who is too much of a coward to answer his phone. The guys then talk about Jerry "The King" Lawler having a heart attack on WWE's "Raw," and plays some "post delay" tapes from last week's "Bottle Girl" segment. This gives the guys the idea to inhale helium and talk really fast while hitting the delay, to see how it sounds.
After hearing the hilarious results of the "Helium Delay" experiment, it's time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us about the new Albums by Bob Dylan and ZZ Top being released today, the members of "The Talk" wearing nothing but towels on the air today, details on the new "Anchorman 2," and Prince Harry may see combat in Afghanistan. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
