The Don Geronimo Show - November 16, 2012
Don begins by having Craig show Drew his Bill Walsh tattoo, as Drew has only seen it online, and not in person. After the awkwardness has subsided, the guys talk about Hostess going out of business, and then Don pulls out a comic book he bought in 1969, when he was 11 years old. The comic had published a letter Don had written to them, and Don reads it for the guys. Don also talks about the new Rolling Stones movie that premiered on HBO last night, and asks the guys, "If we were the Stones, which guy would be who?" Don would of course be Mick, but after some debate, the guys decide that Slow Joe would be Charlie, Little Joe would be Brian Jones, Drew would be Bill Wyman, Phantom would be Ronnie, and Craig would be Keith.
We then get an in-studio visit from comedienne Iliza Shlesinger. Iliza, who is performing at the Punchline in Sac Friday and Saturday, tells us the best way for a girl to figure out if she's hot, her new dating show, "Excused," and even brings her long haired dachshund in the studio to roam around. After Iliza, we get another in-studio visit, this time from our good friend Frank Caliendo! Frank, who is performing at Colusa Casino tonight, hangs out with the guys for the rest of the show, doing his best impersonations, including John Madden, Morgan Freeman, John Gruden, and even brings some new ones, like Lou Holtz and Mike Ditka!
Mike Ditka actually comes on the show as well, and as Frank does his Ditka impersonation, Mike tells us what he thinks of his former quarterback, Jim Harbaugh, as a head coach, and talks about his own style of coaching, and how it differed from other legendary coaches.
The guys then play "Shock Collar Trivia," with Frank reading the questions as Jim Rome and John Gruden, before picking the NFL games, calling Green Bay, and going into the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us that Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 has raked in $500 million in just 24 hours, what toys were inducted into the Toy Hall Of Fame, movie releases for the weekend, and the "Worst Comedy Films of All Time." And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
