The Don Geronimo Show - May 7, 2012
Today, with Dave out, Don calls in Craig to sit in with him and Phantom this morning. Don starts by telling us that he didn't go see "The Avengers" over the weekend, because every showing was sold out.
We then get a full recap of the party Don, Phantom, and Little Joe went to for Ann Marie Petrie's birthday. The guys talk about the amazing house that Ann Marie and her husband Geoff live in, Don spilling red wine on his shirt, Janet dancing with Ann Marie, among other things. Joe and Phantom then tell us that Billy from promotions, who smuggled in a flask of vodka, had spent his evening with a young lady whose dad was none too pleased with her interest in Billy. Joe tells us it turned out the girl was in high school! Don calls Billy up to get details.
After discussing how badly SNL with Eli Manning sucked, Don introduces us to the "Alcohol Bra," a bra specifically designed for sneaking alcohol into any event, Apparently teenage girls are using it on prom night. Don then tells us the death of Goober Pyle isn't thick enough to go with the trifecta started by Junior Seau and MCA of the Beastie Boys. The guys then get into a discussion about the great founding member of the Beastie Boys, and how influential the Beasties were on popular music, as well as pop culture. Don reads a few celebrity tweets about the rapper, and plays clips from their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, as well as a montage of MCA's best works.
Don then tells us his love for Hostess, as he had Janet buy mass quantities of assorted Hostess products over the weekend, and Don has the guys guess how many Ho Ho's, Ding Dongs, and Snowballs he consumed the past 3 days. We also hear a few clips, including V.P. Joe Biden saying he's comfortable with gay marriage, Linda Hogan takes back the Hulk/Brutus Beefcake "gay" comment, and Cyndi Lauper dropping the "F" bomb at the Kentucky Derby.
Don has discovered a new website: meetaninmate.com, an online dating site for prisoners, and Don goes through a few profiles, including a girl in Texas who's been locked up since she was 15, "10 years," and is scheduled for release in 2033
It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us that the Associated Press has apologized to a writer who broke the story about the Germans surrendering from World War 2 in 1945 too soon, the National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. has died, "The Avengers" had the biggest debut weekend ever, and Oprah wants Arnold on her O Network. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
