The Don Geronimo Show - May 4, 2012
Today, in honor of Cinco De Mayo (which is tomorrow), Don wanted a mariachi band, but the one we scheduled flaked out. So instead, Craig brought in his guitar to play some Cinco De Mayo tunes for us. Before that though, Don tells us about a zookeeper in China who cured a monkey's constipation by licking his nether regions. We also hear about a Utah woman who bought tampons that apparently had cocaine in them Don decides to give the Salt Lake City store a call.
Don then calls in Craig to play Cinco De Mayo tunes on his guitar. Among the songs he plays: Cheech and Chong's "Mexican Americans" and Earache My Eye," and the classic folk song "La Bamba." Speaking of La Bamba, the show prep site Little Joe subscribes to has a La Bamba parody sontg in honor of Cinco De Mayo that we get to hear, as well as a Star Wars parody song (in honor of today: "May the 4th be with you.") After discussing Kelly Ripa's problems with finding a co-host, the guys discuss their favorite people on ESPN, before hearing a few fun facts about Hitler. We then hear Ted Nugent tell a CBS reporter "I'll s**k your d**k," and Don plays an educational film from 1951, about "Maintaining an Emotional Balance."
It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about the new movies coming out today, gives us 5 reasons why "The Avengers" may be the best Marvel Comics movie ever, and we hear about a new movie based on the Casey Anthony trial. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
