The Don Geronimo Show - March 5, 2012
Today, it's a stuffy 77 degrees in the studio, because once again the AC is not working, even though the thermostat is set to "cool" and 67! Don calls in engineers Mike and Aaron to find out what's going on, but the only answers they give are "We're gonna take care of it," and "It's broken, man." As the heat continues to increase, Dave tells the story about how he tricked Aaron into smelling his fart earlier before the show, then tells us about letting a fart go in the steam room at the gym over the weekend.
After Don plays a video of his brother Jim with an air horn on his truck, and a new tape from East Coast Bob, Don reads an email from listener who wants the 7-10 spot on 1140 The Fan, and tells Don that Pat and Tom will vouch for him. Don decides to call Pat across the hall to see if Pat does indeed vouch.
The studio gets up to 80 degrees, as the guys talk about the Frank Caliendo show at Thunder Valley Friday night, that they all got to be a part of. Don plays clips recorded from the live show, and the guys talk about the way Craig and his girlfriend Paris were dancing with each other at the after party. We then get another visit from our good buddy, James Brown, who just recently named Special Correspondent for CBS News. JB talks about his new position with CBS News, never getting complacent with his career, and his thoughts on the New Orleans bounty scandal. Don even plays Frank Caliendo's impression of him from last week!
We then find out the engineers have set up fans all over the station to combat the AC problem, and Don tells us about a disorder called T.M.A.U., which causes people to smell like dead fish. The guys discuss who at the station might actually have it. After hearing about a show on The History Channel on Hitler's drug use, Don tells us about the time he got hit in the groin with a baseball in Little League. We then hear Kirk Cameron's asinine comments about gays, and Rush Limbaugh's asinine comments about birth control.
Tomorrow is the big City Council vote on the arena, and Dave says he is "cautiously optimistic." Don also calls a radio station in French Lick, Indiana that does what is called "Tradio." Don calls the station four times, and gets hung up on four times. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about a 4.0 earthquake that hit the bay area this morning, the passing of guitar legend Ronnie Montrose at 64, "The Voice" having celebrity coaches this week, and the top grossing films over the weekend. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
