The Don Geronimo Show - January 18, 2013
Don begins the day by checking out the new liners Craig and Slow Joe wrote for when the show returns from breaks, which are mostly winners, because Craig and Slow Joe wrote them. Don then goes right into an interview with Ron Shirley from "Lizard Lick Towing." Ron tells us about his reality show, which premieres it's second season Monday night at 10 on TruTV, and squashes any doubts that Don has about it being real. He also tells us when he feels most at risk, the time he got stabbed, and "Crazy Walt," who lives in their town, and pulled a gun on him.
After Don tells us about the "Suits" season premiere last night, and his love for Sopranos reruns, the guys talk a bit about Lance Armstrong on Oprah last night, but can't get past the fact that the OWN Network isn't in HD. This gets the guys talking about old video game systems, including the Atari 5200 and Coleco Vision, and the guys talk about their favorite video games growing up, and how cool arcades were back in the day.
After a phone scan with the listeners, we get an in-studio visit from comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. Sebastian, who's performing at the Sacramento Punchline Friday & Saturday, tells us about being on Vince Vaughn's "Wild West Comedy Show," and how it launched his career, growing up in Chicago, and the comedy there, and how Andrew Dice Clay helped him out when he was coming up. He also tells us about the time a heckler tried to fight him.
After Sebastian, we get a visit from the legendary comedian Andrew Dice Clay. Dice, who is performing at Cobbs Comedy Club in San Francisco on Tuesday and Wednesday, tells us about his new comedy special on Showtime, "Indestructible," his comedy tour gaining steam, his gig at the Hard Rock in Vegas in March, and getting the gig on Entourage that revitalized his career.
Don then calls places in Atlanta so Craig and Little Joe can talk some Niner smack, and then it's time for the "Phantom News." Today, part 2 of Oprah's Lance Armstrong interview tonight, movies coming out this weekend, a "Ted" sequel is in the works, and Ozzy's house catches on fire. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
