The Don Geronimo Show - January 10, 2013
The day begins with talk about the Kings possibly being sold to Seattle, and how the guys are sick and tired of being yanked around as Kings fans. After a lengthy discussion about the issue, Don plays a clip from yesterday's simulcast with Grant Napear, and CBS 13's Tony Lopez and Kristina Anderson, in which someone rips a very loud fart. After watching the video that aired on TV a few times, the guys are pretty certain it was Grant.
Don then tells us why the show needs its own bathroom, before doing another phone scan with the listeners, and playing us an auto tuned remix of Al Roker's "pooped my pants" comment. We also hear about a dog that was shaved to look like a lion, and got loose in a Norfolk, VA neighborhood, prompting numerous 911 calls. After hearing Ricky Gervais on Conan last night, Don calls Tony Lopez, who is also certain that it was Grant who ripped that loud beefer on the air yesterday.
The guys then play another round of "Stump The Stoop," before we get a visit from actress Mindy Kaling. Mindy talks with the guys about her new show "The Mindy Project," being on "The Office," her love for romantic comedies, and her appearance on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." She also does an intro for Phantom News! After Mindy, we find out that Don has found Nick Toma! Nick, who disappeared from Sacramento almost 2 years ago, is now the evening news anchor for WTVO in Rockford, Ilinois. Don even calls the station and leaves a voice mail for Nick!
It's then time for "Phantom News." Today, Steve Howe leaves Asia, the Oscar nominees have been announced, the top grossing touring bands of 2012, and a dad who paid gamers to kill off his son's video game character. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
