The Don Geronimo Show - August 10, 2012
Don starts by telling us how happy he is that the NFL preseason has started, and he tells us about watching the Packers game last night, his jersey rituals, and throwing pillows at his phone to smother it, because he was too lazy to get up and turn his notifications off! Don also tells us why the NFL preseason is like dirt weed when it first starts. After Don reads a Kirk/Spock style story about Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, we hear about a lady who applied for jobs with the San Diego Padres 30 times, and her "Suck my D" letter she sent them after they sent her a "job combine" letter. Don also tells a few of his Catholic church and Episcopal church stories after Little Joe does his "Forrest Gump as Jesus" impersonation.
The guys then play a round of "Match Game, before watching a video of a Billings, Montana man who injures himself while trying to do a backflip, and then claimed he was beaten by homophobes. We also hear about a 77 year old University Professor who goes off on a Chick Fil-A drive thru lady about gay marriage. We then get a visit from Kevin Harlan from CBS Sports. Kevin tells us about the NFL preseason games he's doing, when he thinks the regular officials will return, his thoughts on Peyton in Denver, and whether or not Jonathan Vilma will play this year.
After hear ing a few clips, including a guy who saw Randy Travis walk into a store naked, Michael Jackson wanting to create a "Children's Day," and an update on the girl who walked into a plane propeller, Don makes his first call to the Brett Favre Steakhouse in Green Bay, since last football season. We find out, however, that Kathryn doesn't work there anymore, but we meet a new lady named "Carrie Lynn," and she even does an intro for Phantom News! It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us about the bands performing at the Olympics closing ceremony, the making of Hangover 3, and movies coming out this weekend. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
