The Don Geronimo Show - April 5, 2013
The day starts with an interview with movie star Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada is promoting her new movie "Free Angela," and talks to the guys about the movie, elaborates on her open marriage with Will Smith, how her kids are handling show business, and her metal band, "Wicked Evolution." After Jada, we hear about the "Cops" episode he saw yesterday, in which two guys had heroin AND needles up their rectums! We also hear about a Seattle morning news show that had a very lame "Top 5" list ripping Sacramento. Don tells us about the backlash the reporting news anchor has been receiving on social media, and Don calls the TV station (Q13) to leave a nasty message. Later on in the show, we actually hear that he read one of Little Joe's tweets on the air!
The guys then get into the passing of Roger Ebert at 70, and Don tells us the prank that he and Mike O'Meara played on Don's agent (who was also Ebert's agent) back in the Don and Mike days. we also hear outtakes from "At The Movies," and other famous clips of the legendary film critic. Don also calls Abe Vigoda to talk about Ebert, before telling us about a Russian who killed a guy by sticking his foot up his rectum. After another Rotating Random Phone Scan, we get another in studio visit from our friend, comedian Josh Blue. Josh, who will be at the Punchline in Sac tonight and Saturday night, talks about trying out for the Paralympics soccer team, performing in Ron White's "Salute To The Troops" show, why his show 2 days ago was the worst ever, and his ideas for a sitcom!
After Josh, the fire alarm goes off in the station, and Don calls in the maintenance guy in charge to ask him what's up with that. It's then time for the "Phantom News." Today, Wesley Snipes gets out of prison, a guy blows up his face making "shake n' bake" meth, TV reminders and box office releases this weekend, and a Brian Wilson "Beach Boys" tour this summer. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
