The Don Geronimo Show - April 3, 2012
Today, Don begins by telling us that Phantom apparently hasn't seen nearly as many movies as he has led on, and decides that he'll go through the top 100 movies of all time later on in the show to see just how many Phantom has seen. Don then calls in Billy and Ron from promotions to discuss where to send them today to give away Kings tickets for Thursday night's game. Sticking to the theme of yesterday, Don opts for a Planned Parenthood in Stockton, and sends them on their way. Good Day Sacramento also stops in to talk with the guys, before Don talks about the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship last night, and Jim Nantz' coverage of it. This leads the guys to discuss Nantz'
yearly alimony payments of $1 mil to his ex wife.
Don's son Bart turned 27 over the weekend, and Don plays a tape from the old "Don and Mike Morning Zoo" days, in which Don talks to Bart on the air when he was just 3 years old. Don then decides to call Bart, who is just about to leave for work. Don then reads the top 100 movies of all time to see how many Phantom has seen. After Billy and Ron call in from Stockton so Don can talk to the lucky listeners who have been given Kings tickets, the guys talk about Sir Paul McCartney's son wanting to form a Beatles Tribute band with the sons of the other Beatles members. Don then reads a list of the lowest Wonderlic scores ever by NFL players, and a few of the Wonderlic questions. This leads Dave to split hairs over one logical question, and an onslaught of Dave bashing ensues.
We then hear a few clips, including a woman who found maggots in her airline food, Alec Baldwin getting engaged to a 28 year old, The Fray butchering the National Anthem at the NCAA Championship, and a drunk guy singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the back of a squad car. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, the guys get into a lengthy discussion about the Sacramento City Council's vote tonight on the pre-development deal for the new arena, and the Maloofs balking at their original agreement with the city. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
