The Don Geronimo Show - April 26, 2012
Don begins the day with a story Craig gave to him first thing this morning, entitled "Florida Dr. finds G spot on 83 year old woman." Craig however, only read the headline, and apparently the woman was dead, and this was a post-mortem dissection. After hearing a new "Georgia Brown" remix, Don tells us that he came home yesterday to find Janet installing new toilet seats, and tossed around the idea of giving away his old seats to the listeners, but decided against it. He does, however, have tickets for a prescreening of "The Avengers" tonight, and opens up the phone lines to the first ten lucky listeners who want in. We then hear that the new Madden 13 game will have new announcers: Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.
After taking a few lucky callers for the movie tonight, Don interviews our good buddy, ex NFL great Joe Theismann. Joe tells us about his experience on draft day, who he thinks will go first in today's NFL draft, and the circus in New York over the Jets' acquisition of Tim Tebow. He then calls a new play for Craig to draw up! The guys then discuss Dave's new Twitter avatar, and the racist tweets posted by Boston Bruins fans in light of their 2-1 OT loss last night, before playing a clip of a Texas Rangers fan who caught a foul ball and didn't give it to the little kid next to him, and got called out by the YES Network announcers. We also hear a clip of Snoop Dogg's thoughts on Dick Clark, the new Beach Boys tune that was released this week, the Dalai Lama saying he sometimes gets turned on, and the Octomom's kids crapping in their backyard.
After some extensive toilet talk, Don gives us a few spoilers from the new "Men In Black" movie, and then plays a Led Zeppelin/Black Sabbath mashup of "War Pigs" and "Whole Lotta Love." We then get another visit from Sean Salisbury. Sean talks about his experience on draft day, in which he wasn't drafted, how his dad told him to "suck it up" and keep trying, and the pressures of being a 1st round pick these days. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about Coldplay performing on "American Idol" on May 3rd, TLC's new reality show: "Obese and Expecting," and Hitler's "Mein Kampf" to be reprinted in Germany. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
