The Don Geronimo Show - April 20, 2012

Today is 4/20, and Don tells the listeners that all callers who smoke their bongs on the air will go immediately to the front. It's also one year to the day of the infamous "What the f, f, f!" incident, in which during an attempted edition of "Porch Sittin'," the sound of the microphones got distorted so badly that Don abruptly cut off the segment. Don then tells us about his upstairs bathroom leaking again, causing him and Janet to move the furniture out of the house. This led to their neighbors stopping by their front yard to look at their stuff, thinking it was a yard sale! We then hear about the hoops Janet had to jump through just to mail some fragile dishes to her brother. A few listeners call in to do bong rips on the air, and as they describe their weed, Craig gives the street value of their product.

Don then rips the hacks across the street- Rob, Arnie, and Dawn, specifically Rob, and his pretentious web pages, including one on scotch, one on how to be rich, and one on how to be successful. Don reads a few lines from his "Secrets For Being Rich" page, and "How To Be Successful" page, and the guys laugh at his pomposity, knowing this guy is an absolute fake.

We then get breaking news from Good Day Sacramento's Lisa Gonzales, who tells us that the Yolo Causeway has been blocked in both directions because of a shooting in West Sac, where the gunmen is still on the loose. As a result, traffic is at a complete stand still. Lisa returns a couple times throughout the show to give us updates on the traffic condition.

We then get a visit from Sean Salisbury. Sean, who is a former NFL player, and former broadcaster for ESPN, talks about the controversy that led to his dismissal at ESPN, and how badly incident was blown out of proportion. Don tells Sean that he'll do everything in his power to get him hired on with CBS Radio, at one of the stations in the country. Sean also talks about the Colts letting Peyton go, the bounty scandal, and Andrew Luck vs. RG3.

After hearing a few 4/20 tributes from Little Joe's show prep site, we hear about "Good Morning America" beating out "Today" in the ratings for the first time in 16 years the week Matt Lauer was on vacation, the lady who claimed to have gotten pregnant at a Motorhead show was a hoax, and some clips of a reporter screaming the "N" bomb, and Michelle Bachman's "Tar Baby" comment. It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us that people would rather date people who live with their parents than people with crooked teeth, a McDonald's employee who was caught spitting in a customer's iced tea, and tells us what movies come out this week. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
