The Don Geronimo Show - April 19, 2013
Don begins the day with the manhunt in Watertown, MA that erupted last night when the two brothers who are suspects in the Boston tragedy killed a cop, carjacked an SUV, and robbed a 7-Eleven. Apparently one of the brothers is dead, and the second one, a 19 year old, is at large. Throughout the show we get updates on the standoff, with Don occasionally cutting in with live internet and television coverage. We also hear the report that Tony Lopez did on CBS 13 last night about Rob, Arnie, and Dawn getting suspended, before Don hips us to a phenomenon in Oakland called "sideshowing," in which idiots spin out their cars on the freeway. Don even shows us a video of some fools performing the act in rush hour traffic.
We then hear about former Good Day Sacramento wacky weatherman Mark Mathis, who lives now in El Paso, TX, and apparently was beat up by his girlfriend recently. After playing a few clips of Mark's weather wackiness, we hear an ad that's airing in Scotland, campaigning for people to "Test their poo," and even get a demonstration. We also hear about women getting tattoos on their nipples to make them darker, and a nasty email a sorority chick sent to her sisters during Greek Week.
Then we get an in studio visit from comedian Paul Mercurio. Paul, who is performing at the Punchline in Sac all weekend, talks about writing for Leno and The Daily Show, and getting into comedy after getting a law degree at Georgetown. It's then time for the "Phantom News." Today, a Texas teacher who claims she didn't inappropriately touch a student because she's "racist," more Watertown updates, Jennifer Love's dress on Ellen, and fast food you can get in other countries. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
