The Don Geronimo Show - April 1, 2013
The week begins with Don telling us that we're not on in Reno today, because the station we're on in Reno didn't pay its bills. We then hear that it was Bart's 28th birthday yesterday, and we also hear why Janet was on the front page of the Sacramento Bee's business section yesterday. After Doni tells us about the world's laziest mailman, and why he kept prank calling Channel 10 on Saturday, we hear about Drew's visit to Slow Joe's house over the weekend, which apparently involved getting baked, talking about serial killers, and playing zombie video games.
After discussing the Twitter page of loyal listener Georgie Fairmont, and her visit to Roseville over the weekend, the guys talk about the gruesome injury to Louisville basketball player Kevin Ware, and how it reminded everybody of Joe Theismann's injury back in the day. We then hear a few corny parody songs, before we get a visit from Don's idol, and favorite DJ, radio icon John Records Landecker. John talks about his new book, "Records Truly Is My Middle Name," the DJ's who influenced him, the evolution of the "Boogie Check," and how radio has changed in the last 40 years.
After Don reads a list of the best & worst paying jobs in America, it's time for another Rotating Random Phone Scan, before Georgie Fairmont calls in to talk with the guys about being in town over the weekend, and wanting to deflower a virgin. When the guys find out one of their virgin listeners backed out, Don calls the poor sap, to find out what the problem was. The guys then get back into discussing the Kevin Ware injury, before Georgie's husband Jay calls in to talk about his and Georgie's "sexual adventures."
It's then time for the "Phantom News." Today, the Rolling Stones have a huge announcement on Wednesday, a human placenta found in an ice cream tub, Denver hotels have the cheapest room service, and where April Fool's Day came from. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
