The Best Romantic Trips For Valentine's Day In Sacramento

Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to escape everyday chores and head somewhere to create romantic memories. The Sacramento area, including the surrounding counties, have a great variety of places to enjoy. Some are suited for families, and others are perfect for that special couples indulgence.

Valentine's Day in Hope Valley is perfect for couples who enjoy snow and the outdoors, as Sorensen's Resort offers fantastic scenery and the chance to explore the area by cross country ski or snowshoe. While humble, there is a sauna and a gift shop, but the real selling point is the miles of open all-natural enjoyment to be had. Accommodations are in individual cabins, anchored by a small lodge and service restaurant. Sorensen's is about two hours from Sacramento, but well worth the drive, but Lake Tahoe is just a few miles away.

Located in historic Placerville, the Cary House Hotel offers wonderful accommodations right on Main Street. It's in an ideal location to explore the quaint yet historic Main Street, head to Gold Bug Mine, or take a day trip to the vineyards in Apple Hill. Main Street has a great selection of restaurants and cafes as well, with enough art galleries and unique shops to satiate any shopper. The oldest hardware store in the West is here, and is a destination all by itself even if no home improvement is on the horizon. The Marshall Gold Discovery State Park in Coloma is nearby as well, and worth a visit for some gorgeous scenery.
