Temperatures Drop As Rain, Snow Expected To Make Brief Resurgence
Rain showers are expected to return Thursday morning as the next storm moves through the region.
The wet weather will begin around 5 a.m. Thursday, so slippery roads are likely for the morning commute. Rain will push into the foothills and Sierra by the afternoon.
Any clearing in the Central Valley could lead to potential afternoon thunderstorms. Highs Thursday will be in the 60s, about 10-15 degrees cooler than what we've been getting.
Snow will fall in the Sierra Thursday night and into Friday morning. Initially snow levels will be around 7,000 and 8,000 feet -- with accumulations up to 4 inches -- but by Friday morning will lower to around 6,000 feet, with up to 2 inches of possible snowfall.
Some clouds will remain on Friday, but there is only an isolated chance of showers will mainly be north of the Interstate 80 corridor.
Another system moving in Sunday could also mean a wet end to the weekend.
