Temperatures Cool To 80s Following Record Highs

After a record-setting weekend, temperatures will finally begin to cool throughout the week.

Sunday highs compared to Saturday were around 20 to 30 degrees cooler after our record-breaking heat.

The Delta breeze blew strong overnight and Sunday, helping to keep highs in the low 80s.

Some storms fired over the Sierra, but they were limited to higher elevations and closer to the Nevada border.

There is a chance for storms in the Sierra Sunday night and again Monday. However, there is a lesser chance for activity in the valley.

Red flag warnings will go until Monday morning. The main threat is fire in the mountains sparked by dry lightning strikes.

The storm that brought us limited rain will move on by Tuesday. Highs will level out to seasonal norms in Sacramento, with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s.

By the end of the week, expect some warming, with highs sliding into the low 90s. Most everyone will see sunshine throughout the week.
