Teens Vandalize Natomas Sports Club
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A group of masked teens ransacked a sports club overnight, causing a lot of damage but getting away with little cash, authorities said.
Surveillance video shows at least four teens breaking into the Natomas Racquet Club and trashing both the interior and exterior of the building, raiding the café's cash drawer and stealing food from the freezers.
The suspects hurled all of the pool furniture, kids' toys and even a broken refrigerator into the pool, employees said.
The teens sprayed graffiti, possibly gang-related, all over an outdoor utility shed before an alarm went off, prompting the suspects to flee the scene.
The club only lost some food and about $30 in cash, but the vandals caused more than $1,000 in damage.
Investigators are looking into whether the incident was a gang initiation.
