Teen Seriously Injured In Sonora Crash
SONORA, Calif. (CBS13) -- A solo vehicle accident has left a teen with severe head trauma Monday morning, according to authorities.
A 1994 Corvette with three occupants flipped over and rolled repeatedly on Stockton Road just east of Highway 108 after the driver swerved to avoid a small animal that ran out into the roadway.
Sonora police officers and California Highway Patrol officers found 20-year-old Shawn Helfrich and a 16-year-old male passenger trying to pull a 15-year-old male passenger from the vehicle.
The youngest victim had suffered major head trauma and was rushed to a Modesto hospital for treatment. Helfrich was transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries and the other passenger was not hurt.
The current condition of the 15-year-old victim is not yet known.
