Teen Gives Elk Grove Store Owner $200 To Make Up For Years Of Stealing
ELK GROVE (CBS13) - An extraordinary act of redemption in Elk Grove has stunned a store owner.
A teenager walked into a store and handed the owner $200. A note with the money said the cash was to make up for years of stealing.
The incident happened at a convenience store and repair shop on Elk Grove Boulevard.
Owner Bobby Anand says the teen handed him an envelope with the money because the boy says he stole from the store daily for two years.
The teen also left a letter explaining that he's now a Christian and wants to clear his conscience.
"I've never seen anybody give money back even people who owe you money. (Laughs) Something like this is pretty crazy, I've never seen anything like this before," said Bobby Anand.
Anand says he has no plans to pursue charges against the teen.
