Teacher Decorates Classroom In 'Kanye West' Theme To Inspire Students
Mendota, California (CBS Sacramento) -- The fourth grade students of teacher Adrian Perez will be pretty impressed when they walk into their classroom this year. Perez has created a Kanye West themed classroom for his students, according to E! news.
Perez told E! news, "I teach my students to dive deeper in their thought process, and to use real world connections, and to think outside of the box... I just thought, let me break the pavement and be innovative, and pull off this Kanye West classroom theme."
When students walk into the door that reads "Welcome to the Good Life," which is one of Kanye's hits they also will hear it play as they take their seats. Perez has a wall of lyrics by Kanye West which are positive messages for his students to read.
He even made folders that look like the album "Yeezus." Songs such as "Power," "Champion," and "Touch the Sky" are a few of the songs Perez hopes will encourage students to fulfill goals.
Perez reveals, "Mostly all of my students, if not all, did not know who Kanye West was prior to coming to my class... That is not the focus, but I did explain to them how I was creative in putting their classroom together."
Perez has gotten nothing but support from administrators and parents, he hopes these new ideas help in the classroom.
"I am trying to be the Kanye West of teaching. Kanye West is the best at what he does, and I want to be the best at what I do," said Perez.
