TBD Fest Promoters Preparing For Bigger, Better Event That Will Be More Neighbor-Friendly
WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The biggest electronic music festival in our region is gearing up for its second year as TBD Fest kicks off on Friday.
Organizers say the festival will be bigger and better this year, with 30,000 people set to fill up the once-empty lot across from the Tower Bridge.
Kathy Strickly is pumped that the event is in her backyard.
"Taking advantage of this riverfront property is amazing," she said.
It's described as one of the swankiest productions in Sacramento with some of the biggest names in music set to draw tens of thousands.
But the three-day electronic music festival isn't music to everyone's ears.
Mark Wasser says he heard the beats a mile away last year.
"Going like extended hours, not all night but most of the night," he said.
Organizers promise a more positive experience this year, ending earlier each night. The plan is to wrap up Friday and Saturday by 11:30 p.m. and Sunday by 10 p.m. with softer music at the close.
Even people in the new apartments across the street are ready.
"What we're doing in part of the city is developing a new downtown that does something very special," said manager Stephen Jaycox.
Everyone who lives in the nearby apartments were able to get half-off tickets for the event.
