Tanker Trains Derailed At Sacramento County Railyard Near Roseville
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Authorities say there isn't any threat to the community after tanker cars derailed at a railyard on the border of Sacramento and Placer counties.
The incident started a little after 12 p.m. Friday at the JR Davis Railyard.
Exactly what led to the train derailing is unclear. According to Union Pacific, three cars were on their side and two are upright.
The train was carrying butane and lumber.
According to the Roseville Fire Department, no product from the tankers is leaking. A Hazmat team is at the scene to make sure the cars are safe and will stay there until they are righted.
Only rail traffic is impacted by the incident.
Union Pacific said the cause of the derailment is under investigation.
