Man, Woman Found Shot Dead After SWAT Standoff

LINCOLN, Calif. (CBS13) – A man and woman were found dead inside their Lincoln home after police received a call that reported a murder Friday afternoon.

The Lincoln Police Department said a man called authorities and said his wife was dead inside a home on the 1500 block of 4th Street and that he was planning to shoot himself.

When officers arrived on scene, they heard a single gunshot inside the home and called for backup from the Placer County SWAT team.

After authorities cleared the area and shut down neighboring streets, officers carefully entered the home and found the a woman in her 70s and a man of a similar age dead of gunshot wounds.

The names of the victims have not been released. Detectives have not speculated on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
