SWAT Standoff Ends Peacefully In North Sac
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- SWAT negotiators convinced a man to surrender peacefully after a standoff lasted for hours following a domestic violence incident, authorities said.
The Sacramento Police Department said a woman called emergency dispatchers Sunday morning to report that she and her 43-year-old boyfriend, identified as Alonzo Smith, were wrestling over a gun at their residence on Alamos Avenue.
The woman managed to escaped her apartment with three kids and two other occupants. When officers arrived, Smith would not exit the apartment.
After about two hours, Smith gave himself up to officers without further incident.
Smith is facing charges of domestic violence and is being held on $170,000 bail.
