Swastika, Racial Slurs Spray Painted On Man's Garage
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Racial slurs and a swastika was spray painted on the garage of an 81-year-old man, and now the victim tells CBS13 that this isn't the first time he's been harassed.
The 81-year-old victim didn't want to go on camera, but told CBS13 that he's been harassed for years.
"They're not going to move me out, I'm too old for that," says Fred Clark.
Fred Clark's garage was spray painted with racist graffiti reading "Move N-Word. White Power is here," and then punctuated with a swastika.
From behind the security door, Clark shared with CBS13 that he's been targeted with ongoing harassment for more than two years.
"They ring my bell, knock on the side of my house, and they used to park their car in front of my house and wouldn't let me out," says Clark.
Neighbors who live nearby say they've heard loud pounding on the wall in the middle of the night, but didn't know whose home was being targeted.
"Sometimes at night we hear noises, people banging on the wall," neighbors say.
Clark believes this is the work of a neighbor, but CBS13 was not able to contact that neighbor. But others say the vandalism is senseless.
"Hateful, hate for no reason, just hateful," say neighbors.
People living in the complex right across from Consumes River College say they were not aware that this kind of hate could be lurking so close.
"It's going to be 2011, and it seems like a huge step backwards," one person told CBS13.
Police did come out to the scene and take a report, but could not find any witnesses and no arrests have been made.
But Clark says he has had to call police more than 15 times, and he's hoping to finally get some help.
