SUV Hits House In South Sacramento During Chase With Deputy
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies are searching for the driver of an SUV who crashed into a home in south Sacramento overnight.
The sheriff's department says a deputy tried to stop the car, but the driver refused to stop and drove off. The driver led the deputy on a short chase that ended when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a home on Welty Way. He jumped out of the car and ran off. Deputies are continuing to search for the man.
Fortunately none of the five people inside the home at the time were hurt.
"If he would have hit the window he probably would have killed the baby, killed my sister. That's not even necessary," said Lawrence Attaway, who lives at the home.
Attaway says damage to the home was minimal.
