SUV Crash Sparks Grass Fire In Davis

DAVIS (CBS13) - A sports utility vehicle fell off Interstate 80 in Davis and sparked a small brush fire Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. A red SUV fell off I-80 west of Richards Boulevard onto Old Davis Road, starting a grass fire near the Mondavi Center.

An air ambulance landed on Old Davis Road and one victim was flown to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries, the CHP said.

The victim sustained head and torso trauma and was coughing up blood.
