Sutter Health To Open Administrative Service Center In Roseville
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - Sutter Health announced on Wednesday that it will open a major administrative service center in Roseville that will house 1,000 support staff personnel over the next 18 months.
Scheduled to open in early 2013, the center will be located in a nearly 300,000-square-foot office building at 9100 Foothills Blvd., near Highway 65 and Blue Oaks Boulevard in west Roseville.
Tenant improvements will begin immediately and the first group of 200 to 300 employees will move into the facility in the first quarter of 2013, the health network said. Additional employees will follow in phases.
Roseville city officials are giddy about what's coming to their city.
"I think the economic impact of this is going to be tremendous," Roseville City Manager Ray Kerridge said.
It's a repurposed 300,000-square-square-foot facility to house Sutter Health's new administrative service center.
"We owe it to our patients and customers to run as efficiently as possible," said Karen Garner, Sutter Health's communications director.
They plan on doing that by consolidating their administrative support for customers and staff in departments such as finance, billing, human resources and other non-patient care.
They say the savings will be tremendous.
"About $300 million is savings per year," Garner said.
But there is a downside to the move to Roseville.
"There will be fewer jobs once we're done with this transition," Garner said.
To consolidate in Roseville, jobs could be cut at other Sutter Health administrative offices from the Bay Area to the Central Valley.
When and where will that happen?
"It's too early to tell," Garner said.
But those cuts, when identified, will happen, she said. .
"Ultimately there will be fewer jobs and there will be fewer employees providing those services, but we don't quite know what that looks like," she said.
