Suspicious Fire Hits Modesto Church Overnight
MODESTO (CBS13) - Flames ripped through a church in Modesto overnight heavily damaging the house of worship, according to authorities.
The fire broke out just before 2:00 am. at the Templo el Buen Samaritano Church at 529 Rio Grande Avenue.
Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the roof of the two-story building. Twenty-four fire fighters eventually got the two-alarm fire under control pretty quickly but the blaze did cause about $150,000 in damage.
The cause is under investigation but firefighters say several suspicious fires were reported in that area overnight.
Nobody was hurt.
